HEAVY TRASH "Individual Call In" Scheduling changes that were slated for March 2 are now on hold:

According to a direct quote from Sallie Alcorn's February 24, 2026 news Update Letter (https://us4.campaign-archive.com/?u=37dd166b5c89abf905bff88bc&id=be505169d4 ):

"Important Heavy Trash Update: At the meeting, Solid Waste Director Larius Hassen announced the city’s new approach to heavy trash pickup with a scheduled work order system. While originally planned for an early March start date, this program is now postponed. A new timeline is not currently available."

Per a phone conversation today (February 25, 2026) with an aide from Amy Peck's office (https://www.houstontx.gov/council/a/ ), it was reported that the COH Solid Waste Management Department will provide an announcement/press release soon regarding the heavy trash schedule status after it is approved from the mayor's office. The aide also stated that heavy trash service is about a week behind right now, but that the original schedules should be followed.
